On October 28 and 29, 2022, under the auspices of the Embassy and Mission of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Rome and the University of Bologna, a conference titled "The Future of Afghanistan: Comparative Constitutional Analysis" was held in hybrid at the Embassy headquarters in Rome and at the Campus of Forli, Bologna University.
Speakers in this hybrid gathering included professors from various universities in Italy and abroad, researchers, legal and constitutional experts, parliamentarians, Afghan diplomats living abroad, civil society members and women right activists.

They further discussed the past twenty years challenges faced by the governments of Afghanistan in enforcing the ratified constitution of 2004, and proposed some recommendations as desirable reforms to facilitate the enforcing process in the future, should a new inclusive and elected government is established in Afghanistan.
